Samperi - The Peach in the Bag

The famous Peach in the Bag is cultivated only in Leonforte, in the heart of Sicily. It is a tardive percoca peach that ripens from September to October. In June, when the peaches are as big as an almond, they're bagged individually directly on the tree, as to avoid the massive use of pesticides. This is a unique and meticulous technique which assures a special, healthy and tasty fruit, that has become a Slow Food Presidium.
